Affordable Housing

Affordable housing is a misnomer.  What does it mean without some gimmick behind it.  One needs a much more analytic look at it.  

What would it really mean?  

Use bulk material.  Buy by the ton. Like concrete.  But use as little as possible, stretch it to the max.  Make your own precise building material, eliminating middle men, contributing your time instead of your hard earned money fueling other people's profits.  End the financial travesty of renting by employing one's own time with an efficacious means to contribute significant sweat equity.   Using bulk materials and improved methods one can create instant equity in the face of outrageous disparity and severe climate change.  The key is easy and fun work in a socialable atmosphere using cooperative teamwork.

This is a wall building system unlike any other on Earth.  Glass smooth precast concrete (or any other castable material of the future) with 40% of the concrete and therefore cement and cost removed.  A perfect coming together of size, weight, strength, and aesthetic for truly optimized efficient, heavy duty, and economical construction.  Simple but highly precise molds turn bulk concrete into a most advanced user friendly building material.  Large savings in materials and labor can be had by eliminating the standard profit tree of wood frame construction. Framing, sheathing, wrap, siding, and drywall are all eliminated. 

To have a truly solid home that will survive through Nature’s ever increasing furies, one needs a thick mega mass construction.  Plain dirt used to be a primary material but due to its vulnerability to water seepage and failure it was too challenging for longevity.  My new system encases bulk material of any sort inside a concrete shell giving long term support and huge mass. Doubling the mass cuts the reaction to forces of Nature in half.   When mass can be the dirt from your excavation, the carbon footprint whooshes towards zero. This is not an easy given.  There is great vested interest in maintaining the status quo gravy train and that avenue has proven to offer no support towards innovation or the consumer.  What an awful word.  Regular decent people trying to make ends meet as disparity and "progress" keep increasing the cost of living.  The progress is to the abyss.

The minimal amount of concrete the system wall panels uses makes the concrete cost very low.  Precision is easily had from the design and ease of use of the molds.  The molds are everything. One precise mold will make hundreds if not thousands of precise wall panels. Compared to currently available options, they are all disqualified by high cost and lack of performance.

3D Printing Mix

The hyped panacea of 3D printed concrete is just another corporate gimmick.  Some of Sika’s 3D Printing cement formulas are available for purchase in a cost-saving super sack of concrete. Prices start at $450 for a 2000lbs Super Sack. A yard of concrete weighs about 4,000 pounds.  Allowing for about a 100 pounds of water the cost is a bit under $900 per yard, over four times more costly than regular concrete.

Shared accomplishment and the super social vibes that go with it can restore humanity back to a civil brotherhood.
